Founder & Chief Creative Officer

Zak Mroueh
Founder & Chief Creative Officer

Prior to starting Zulu, Zak was CCO & partner at TAXI Canada, where he helped lead the agency to become one of the world’s most awarded shops in the Gunn Report. In 2007, at the height of the agency’s success, Zak quit, and founded his own shop.

Since then, he has been busy building Zulu Alpha Kilo into a globally awarded 130-person independent. In 2016, Zulu was named Ad Age’s Small Agency of the Year, the first time a non-U.S. agency had ever won overall top honours. Zulu repeated as Ad Age’s International Small Agency of the Year in 2017.

Philosophically, Zak firmly believes size and growth is immaterial to an agency’s success. The key to long-term creative and financial health, he says, is to stay true to your creative vision and values no matter how big or small your agency. Having a fearless mentality and being an industry agitator is what continues to drive Zak forward each and every day.
