Getting inked to fight extinction

When it comes to spreading the word for Sea Shepherd, Fred & Farid NY encourages us to put some skin in the game.

Sea Shepherd is a non-profit association dedicated to the protection of marine ecosystems. For World Animal Day (October 4), Fred & Farid came up with a unique media platform for its message. Based on the idea that getting a tattoo is also about talking and sharing, the agency teamed up with esteemed tattoo artists, including Stephen Carballo in Los Angeles, who created a collection of tats depicting endangered species. People tattooed with the images could then spread the message all year round – and for years to come – that rare species must be protected and biodiversity ensured. The hashtag #extinctink allows everyone to share their tattoos even further afield.
