OVERVIEW: The successful Design Assistant will support the Design Studio Director and the Director of Product Development with administrative work, research and studio organization. This individual is self-motivated, has experience working successfully in a collaborative environment, and can pivot between projects easily – as well as contribute to an ever-changing list of studio priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

• Organization and upkeep of the design studio
• General administrative duties which include creating and managing purchase orders, expense reports, as well as updating the seasonal collection presentation boards throughout the season
• Design and materials research
• Adhoc Projects
• Coordinating local pick up/delivery of samples and prototypes
• Order Tracking

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, or a similar field
• 1-2+ years of work experience
• Experience working at a luxury fashion brand is a plus
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment and effectively respond to feedback
• A keen eye for detail
• Effectiveness in time management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organization, self-motivation, and the ability to meet deadlines
• Critical thinking with the ability to foresee issues
• Proficiency in using Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
• Proficiency in using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Graphite is a plus
• Willingness to be a part of a small team and do whatever needs doing to accomplish company goals, even if outside of mandate
