AR Wired is an augmented and virtual reality experiment by CoreLabs and Rez developed in 2010.
It was published by 'The Creators Project' by Vice and shown in Technarte, an international conference on art and, science and technology in Bilbao.

* This project was created before have heard nothing about Oculus or VR as it is known nowadays.

A proof of concept that attempts to set up an immersive AR environment allowing for a greater freedom of movement inside augmented reality settings. The project merges two previous projects developed at CORE Labs: an ARHemlet equipped with a camera, headphones and screen and Wired, an interactive audiovisual processing software. Using AR and the Arduino, ARWired creates a synchronized interactive application that takes information about the surrounding environment captured via the helmet’s camera and a sensor board placed in front of the user to trigger realtime 3D vector graphics and audio. The user, in turn, receives an augmented version of his surroundings.

F.A.Q
1. This is a proof of concept about Immersive AR where the user has a first person view of the environment.
2. This project mixes AR and Arduino to create an audiovisual synchronized interactive application.
3. The user wears a helmet where a camera, headphones and a screen has been attached.
4. The user triggers audio and realtime 3d vector graphics by pressing the sensors installed on the board.
5. The audio in the video has been re-arranged to match the sequence, but essentially you will listen what you get while playing.
