Carl is a bilingual, multicultural “tradigital” communications professional who is also a Postgrad student at the Royal College of Art in London, UK. His content creation for clients has generated millions of dollars in earned media. Carl is agile in adapting to new technology in the communications field. Selected one of the Top 20 Canadian Creative Directors (CD) 2012 by Strategy Magazine.Nominated for "Excellence in Teaching" 2015 at OCAD University. In Toronto Carl was V.P. E.C.D at Grey Canada. Responsible for mass and digital creative that won: Cannes, Clio's, LIAA, ADCC, Marketing, and One Show. Most awarded Art Director in the Mexican advertising industry 1995-2010, and the first Art Director to be elected President of the Mexican Creative Club. Carl was CD on the campaign for Alka-Seltzer, which became the country's most awarded of all times. He was CD for the Frito-Lays TV ad "grandparents", the first Latin American commercial shown during the Super Bowl. It was voted “Top 5” in the newspaper USA Today’s public poll. With 10 years at BBDO, it became the most awarded agency, and 4-time winner of the title "Agency of the Year." As General Creative Director of Y&R Mexico, Carl helped lead the agency to be named "Agency of the Year," and winning it’s first Cannes lion. He opened Y&R Digital, and Sudler & Hennessy healthcare. Outside of the agency business, Carl entered OCAD University & Miami Ad School teaching advertising creation. He is recognized globally as an authority on advertising, being invited to give seminars in 10 countries such as Clio’s Asia, and recently at Syracuse University & Edgehill Uni. In 2014 Jones contributed to the book "Hacker, Maker, Teacher, Thief: Advertising's Next Generation" published by Creative Social, and presented a marketing paper on the Mr Clean brand at the 12th World Congress of Semiotics. Carl has been a judge at the world’s major advertising award shows: Clios, London, NYF, EFFIES and Cannes.In total Carl has won over 500 awards and recognitions. Currently Carl is teaching PR & Advertising at University of Westminster in London, and working on integrating semiotics with Design on projects at Publicis Mexico, Hunt Publicidad and others.
